After losing her mother and accidentally killing her sister, in an attempt to save her from their abusive stepfather, Baby Girl(Emily Browning) is institutionalized.
She escapes the abuse of the institutional workers and their ring leader Blue(Oscar Isac) by retreating into an alternate reality within her mind. While inside this alternate reality her guardian angel tells her what she must do in order to escape.
The film seems to come strait from the imagination of a 40 year old man still living with his parents; meaning, it is filled with several epic scenes which keep the viewer's attention, but when the movie is over the plot makes you feel like you have just wasted two hours of your life.
Various alternate realities that the main character, Baby Girl, goes through as she attempts to mentally and physically escape from her institution leave the moviegoer confused and ripped off. The various realities of Baby Girl become convoluted and confusing and lead to the plot twists being unbelievable.
The movie did feature some thrilling fight sequences, but they did not make up for what was an all-around confusing experience.
